Israeli occupation tanks on Thursday rolled into the Shujaiya neighborhood in eastern Gaza, destroying and vandalizing civilian property.

Palestinian sources said dozens of tanks and armored personnel carriers rampaged through the crowded neighborhood in early morning hours and that Israeli occupation troops imposed curfew inhabitants.

The sources said at least one home was completely demolished while other homes sustained serious damage.

The Israeli occupation army launches nearly daily attacks on and incursions into PA-run areas and population centers in the Gaza Strip during which Palestinian private and public buildings are dynamited or destroyed by bulldozers.

The Zionist regime says the incursions are aimed at thwarting “terrorist acts,” the name the apartheid regime gives to Palestinian resistance attacks against military occupation.

Meanwhile, the latest meetings between PA and Zionist officials in Tel Aviv, which took place Wednesday, apparently failed to achieve any substantive results.

The PA demanded that Zionist forces withdraw from al-Khalil and Ramallah in return for the PA assuming security responsibility in these two towns.

However, Israeli Prime Minister and his apparently hawkish military establishment have are refusing to withdraw from Palestinian towns, insisting that the PA “fight terror” first.

Israeli occupation forces and paramilitary Jewish terrorists have killed almost 1800 Palestinians since the outbreak of the Palestinian uprising for independence two years ago.

More than a third of the victims are children and minors.

In the same period, around 600 Zionist soldiers, settlers, and civilians were killed by Palestinian guerillas.
